Stock suspension they're fine. My car is lowered (a lot, too much) and now they rub sometimes up front. Front 7 inch wide wheels, rears are 8..

My favorite front tire size - for a VW bug. I ran a pair of these Michelin 135SR15 ZX radials on my 14 & 13-second bugs that I used to street race back in the late ‘70s mounted on 3.5” Centerlines.

Believe it or not one night at the races there was a V8 Vega (very popular at that time) with a 454 BBC running 135s on the front, mounted on 3.5” Centerlines. Definitely crazy.

I had 165SR15 Michelins/3.5” Centerlines on the front of my ‘64 GTO when I first bought it from a friend and those were a bit sketchy on gentle freeway curves but not too bad overall.

Yeah I used to run 165-15's on my V8 vegas with a 4" rim and daily drove them that way. Later I started daily driving a 71 Nova and ran the same 165-15's on the front of that with 4" rims. Did that for several years without an issue. Back and forth to work everyday, and even did some pretty long road trips in the Nova like that.

Dad is essentially running the same thing on the front of his GTO today. They are MT 28x6's on a 4" rim, not a far stretch from the old 165-15's, just a taller version of them. He's driven that thing all over the place for years like that. Through the mountain curvy roads even, it actually drives just fine.
