I feeling very old. It seems weird to me that there are grown folks walking around that were born in the 90s!...lol

Different mind set for those born in the 90s. For those of us born in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, that Vette is just plain ol fugly. But each to their own thoughts. Don't get me wrong... I love red, white and blue, but not done like this.

Nah, you can't divide it by those age groups Gary. I was born in the 50s and I'm one of the ones that thinks it's kinda cool in a throwback kind of way. I wouldn't want it for myself but I get a kick out of seeing it because it reminds me of the '70s which I remember well.
On the other hand, here are two guys posting that were born in the '90s, one loves it and one hates it!
It's just a 'different strokes for different folks' kinda thing I guess.

Me too.

It reminds me of the Greenwood Corvettes that were pretty dominant in road racing at the time, I imagine there were quite a few '1776' themed Corvettes running around the US back then.

I love the old Vette race cars! This one is one of my all time favorites, and I've had a model of it on my shelf since I was a little kid.

Who do you think was building these cars in the '70s? Judging by how many customs similar to this were built in that era the guys who you're talking about must've liked 'em.

BTW, I was born in 1970. When this car was built for the bicentennial, I would have thought it was cool. I think it's cool now- even the funky Cibie headlight treatment. The steering wheel is clearly a wart added in the '90s, I would change that for something more appropriate for the style of the car.

This is one of those cars where if I had the money it would be a Halloween costume party car. Dress up in the denim jumpsuit with a big cast brass belt buckle displaying either your favorite beer or what you proudly do for a living. 60 percent of the time, it starts every time.

Yeah yer right Greg.

And Goatless, those Cibie lights were great. I had a set on my 70 Camaro and on the Formula tho not for long. They saved my bacon in a snowstorm back in Dec of 73 up in NY, on my way back up home from Rochester that Christmas. I turned of the headlights and just ran the Cibie driving lights in order to see. That's how bad the storm was.

I was 13 years old in 1976, remember the big parade in town and I remember cars like this that were running around as well - specifically a 67 Chevelle with a wild geometric paint job on top of it's black original paint.

We should consider that this is not some 6 cyl Camaro that somebody put a bunch of fiberglass on - it was the top of the heap in 1968! Just the 2nd year of that body style with the top motor and a 4spd, and in a sea of factory freaks and wild customs this car still stands out.

Period Cragar wheels, Mickey Thompson rubber, Lake Pipes, tilt front end and that wild (cracked) lacquer paint job - at $22k, this car is a steal! And consider just how many people would gravitate to this car if you ever pulled up to a car show - if you enjoy having something a little different, something that nobody else can claim to have - this car is the ticket!

I thought that the first time I saw the ad. It's a '69 427 4-speed 'Vette! How much are those bringing in stock restored condition these day?
I am totally NOT a Corvette guy and would never consider owning a stock '69 'Vette, but this one is waaaaay cooler. I can just imagine how upset the NCRS type guys would get when you pulled in next to them at a show and this car got all the attention, while their concourse restoration was ignored by all but other NCRS types.

I know what you are saying Boss, but to me the paint and the wheels are much better on the Crapmaro.

It's an amazing car, and the paint on it held up incredibly well for its age! I wish I had the cash to buy it.

Yeah, but that Firebird is in his garage.
