Just as rare as the blocks, but probably fewer around.

So how much is that winning bidder going to pay on the side for the tags that "aren't for sale"? (or is that for a second auction when the engine block is up on ebay and the tags are shown in that one too to match up?)

Rats!! I bid $2000 but someone else won. I could've gone higher if I didn't just pop for a set of JWs for my 70TA.

Oh well... Hopefully, this will encourage someone to drag another out of storage and sell it.

The 69 PQs are hard to come by.

Rob

My 68 GTO TH400 tag says "PC-68 2400" . Not original but hey it was a 4-speed car.

Hmmmm, that'sa close rhyme to "PQ-69 2422"

Is there a site with the codes for TH400's and TH350's?
I have a PS-67 that I think was from a 67 GTO and others that I don't know what they are from.

Thanks
Steve

I have a search setup to e-mail me when one comes up - yours was the second e-mail I've gotten.

Love the paint mark stamp! Any chance you could make a stencil from it?

Yeah.. I too have had the same search setup for as long as I can remember.

Boss- No problem. I'll make a trace of it this week.

I bought two 70 TA PQ trannies from a guy in southern Missouri about ~2-3 years ago. My intent was tear one down and measure the differences between a 69 PX and the 70 PQ so that I could make my PX perform like a PQ. Best I can do until I find a 69 PQ.

The first one had a bunch of water in it, the case had an ear cracked off, the governor was missing, and someone had put in a shift kit. I disassembled it and sold the case a while back. I still have the rest of it on the shelf. I wanted to use it's valve body in the PX but all the spools were stuck, bores are heavily rusted, and most of the springs were rusted into multiple pieces.

This one was in much better shape and I couldn't bring myself to ruin it.

More pics if anyone is interested.

The first pic shows what a PQ governors weight cut profile looks like so that may be usefull to somone. The rest I just added so that they would be captured for future reference after the auction is over.
