I just had a similar problem, yes ran a cheap piston, broke it. Now I am paying for good pistons. Thank god the block is good!!!

I wouldnt say mine were cheap. Just not as expensive as possible LOL. But i hear ya.

I don't rebuild mine by building a box and mailing it. And you been out over 6 weeks over a freeze plug......? This after it only made 1240ish on the first attempt and you guys took it apart to start over.....I wonder why? Hmmm....

That isn't me, We were cutting wood for a fire pit??? Motors been in the car over a month. Every weekend we go to test the tracks are closed due to a heat wave. Freeze plug would have never stayed in the head. There is no material to hold it in. A plug needed to be welded in its place. Tony said give it to me and I'll weld it up free of charge. The First attemp it did make 1240ish with warm up oil on the third warm up pull and the heads started to leak water so the session was ended

Who's pistons do you like best. Everyone I speak to has a different opinion.
Ross, Diamond, Carillo, JE. I'm pretty sure JE is getting my custom piston order.

We been using CP/Carillofor years. Really like them.
