Any chance of a video of the Dyno pull? It would be great historically IMO.

Hi Tom,
I saw that you did a partial block fill. Will that effect the cooling of the engine for street use?

I ran my 303 RA V short deck block with a short fill for years with no issue. The new owner of the engine has had no issues either.Tom

Filling the bottom of the block eliminates the dead water space that just churns around collecting rust. When short filled, all the water that enters blocks gets pumped past the top of the cylinders[where all the heat is generated], and into the heads. I filled a 400 that is all street and it runs 180°-185°, and about 190-200° in the dead of summer here at over 100° outside, when sitting in traffic. I think it helps them run cooler myself.

Well, the day finally came.Ran the engine, made a couple pulls and its still together. We started at 36 degrees and ran OK,thought we would try 34 and it did not like it.Told Joe to let it sit, cool down,do a compression test and maybe let it sit over night and re TQ the heads and reset the valves.I would like to try 38 if everthing looks good.Looks lean, cam looks too small and I know the springs are too light.Might just call it a day and not spend any more money.37p HP at 5200 and 430 TQ at 4200.I used my Iphone for the pull but dont know how to upload.I can message or email if someone can do it.Tom

I like that right out of the gate you made 430 TQ really early in the power band and you are humble about it.

1.25 HP per cube
1.42 TQ per cube.

Welcome to the 1:1 club on your first shot. Yeah, I like it.

To the bottom of the outer, side freeze plugs, which is equal to the bottom of the water pump inlet holes in the front of the block.
