We got the dash pad, A-pillar covers, radio, speaker, and speaker grill installed today.
Still looking for a '68 4-speed shifter and all the linkage parts, and a nice hood. If we can't find a good hood soon, the existing one is very repairable...most likely going that route it appears. Dennis |

Interior looks fantastic! Were you able to move the plastic pins on the weatherstripping or did you have to drill new holes in the door to accommodate?

I have been following this thread from the beginning and posted once. Just felt I needed to say again how lucky that car was to fall into your shop. Super skilled restoration on a rare and historically important car. It's just coming along beautifully. Just love the big cars and that one is really special. Can't wait to see it in person.

Dan got the rubber splash shields stapled to the inner fenders, the radiator cleaned and painted, and the fan guard painted along with installing the new 428 emblem and radiator cushions. Just waiting for the front end sheet metal to be painted once the hood is repaired of minor rust.

The neat thing about this is while everyone restores A and F body cars, you just don't see that many high quality restorations of B body big cars. Considering the availability of parts and resources for the smaller cars, compared to what little is available for big cars, it's a pretty remarkable project.

Dan got the core support assembled and installed along with the front light harness. Still need to find the correct long single snorkel air cleaner (has the one from my '71 Bonneville). He also installed the staples that attach the rubber splash shields to the inner fender wells.

Lots work happened these past few weeks despite the virus crisis. Fortunately these are one-man jobs with me pitching in for more hands on occasion when needed, like installing the front inner fenders and bleeding the brakes. Some pics of the undersides too.

Beautiful work, rarely seen on big cars especially late 60's or newer.
By the way are you aware that you have an incorrect air cleaner? That is a 70+ short snout. The correct air cleaner for a 68 428 is the single wide and long snorkel, the interchange is 68 GTO, 68-69 Fbird 400, 69 GP 428, 69 B body 428 HO and 69 F & A 350 HO (350 HO had same housing but painted lid)
