Would like to see someone reproduce a 1968 standard sport steering wheel for Firebird. Impossible to find a decent one, they are all cracked. Also would like to see the lense & bird emblem for the steering wheel cap reproduced. In general, parts for the '68 Firebird are getting so hard to find.

Steve

I agree w/ SteveK on that 69 TA steel hood! I've talked to many people at car shows and swap meets who also agree. We're behind you SteveK!

Would like to see the collar for the '69-'72 Custom Sport steering wheel. Have ordered one, but is still unknown when it will be available. This was about 8 months ago.

How about 1965 GP taillights? Those are the hardest item to find, and when you do they want outrageous amounts of money for them.

How about making steel templates for etching the birds on 67-69 firebird door glass. Get a sample, copy the pattern, laser cut some thin flexible steel and you're there. THAT WOULD REALLY KICK ASS!!

I am having trouble locating the right side dash bezel holding the cig lighter and radio for a 1972 grand prix. Would like to see this reproduced or if anyone knows a good source I would be appreciative. Also, looking for the faux woodgrain sticker for the bezel.
Thanks

Quoted from my post on May 31, 2002:

"Ccass:

My wish list follows:

For 1971 & 1972 GTO's:
The endura bumper "stabilizer" bushings (OE p/n 9799960)
Steel front valance panels"

I've got one NOS 9799960 bushing to use as a pattern, let me know how to get it to you! All I ask is that it be returned. How about the valance panel? Also, a '72 GTO radiator support would be nice!

Lloyd

Chris:

I'll send the 9799960 bushing today or tomorrow in a bubble mailer. I'll put my bus card in the bubble mailer.

Thanks for everything!,

73-74 & 75 Grand Am stripes. Phoenix is willing to reproducce them but no guarantee that they will give me my NOS set back if I lend it to them for reproduction.

I would like to see a patch panel made that would repair the dash area where the radio mounts on 69-72 A bodies. Finding an original uncut dash is getting almost impossible.

I got the idea while look through a Mustang restoration parts catalog. They have a panel that mounts over the dash and covers the cuts and holes from aftermarket radio installs. It’s not a very expensive part either.

This would be an easy part to make tooling for, since almost any sheet metal shop can bend and cut (punch) the steel. The part could be made to fit over the original metal (just like the Mustang panel) and fastened with countersunk pop rivets. More adventurous restorers could cut and weld the panel, although I don’t know how the dash would react to the heat.

This panel could also be made for the 68 and earlier cars, but that might take some extra thinking to figure out.
