Guys, remember it is important to do burnouts as often as you can. If you don't your tires will end up being ten years old with "maybe" ten thousand miles on them. Then you'll be bummed that you have to replace them and they're not even close to being worn out.

You’re not wrong! I bought a set of Silvertown redlines in 2009 that still look new. Now that they’re well past the sell by date, I regret not lighting them up more often.

This is great advice and sadly My 69 GTO never hit the road in 2023. I will make up for it and smoke the hoops hard this year.

I follow my own advice. This year was the 11 th driving season on my tires. I had already done a decent job of burning up the rears, so this year I rotated my tires and did my best to burn off what was left of the (now) rears. 20,302 miles.
Next season I will be buying new tires. |

I've been on a quest to fix the tape player in the T/A so I can rock some era appropriate 90's alt rock. Something's wrong with the left side output. Bought a used radio off eBay and swapped it out...same problem so maybe it's not the tape player. The radio sounds great.
Also put new pads and shoes on the Goat in my quest to stop better. I went with Wilwood's BP-20 pad as an upgrade for the BP-10s that came with the D52 calipers and PowerStop shoes in the rear. Took it for a short cruise at dusk to bed in the new pads and shoes. Seems better. Behold the rare photo of my car with the headlight doors open and the lights on. While I had the car up in the air for the brakes I took a minute to soak in the accomplishment of a leak free trans and engine. I don't think this car has ever been this dry underneath. Hope it lasts.

Picked up a second refurbished stereo and I'm in business. Got the Trees cranked loud and clear through both channels! Bonus that they unlocked it when they refurbished it, so I didn't have to call the number to get the code

I got my GTO out for about 20 miles today and 75 a few days before . The VERY long most of life resto was completed in November and I’ve still managed to rack up about 600 miles on it . Coldest I’ve had it out was high 30s .

I’ve been updating the taillights, reverse lights, and dash lights to LED…. Just one bulb to go…. The one above the steering column…. Any ideas on best way to get to this one… 67 GTO convertible with AC.

A couple of months ago I upgraded the fuel pickup in the gas tank. When I put it back in the car and filled the tank, the gauge only went to half full. I drained the tank and the gauge still read half. It warmed up enough for me to get under the car and drop the tank again. When I first worked on the tank, I made a new gasket for the sending unit (no replacement is available). Found that the gasket I made was slightly undersize on the hole for the sending unit causing a bind on the float arm. Trimmed the gasket and put it back together. I am now waiting on the sealing compound to dry. Will repaint the tank before I put it back in the car.

Installed roller rockers arms on my 74 and found out the correct valve covers wouldn't clear. So I installed some factoey chrome units. Not sure if I'm liking them or not.
