I do plan on driving the car to shows! But after being under the knife for 2 years, I don't feel comfortable driving it hundreds of miles just yet. The headlights are a kit off eBay, not sure of the seller anymore

I will be at Norwalk representing Don Keefes Poncho Perfection magazine. Come say hi, and sign up for the magazine!

yep!

I had a blast bringing the car to a bunch of shows last summer. Its just been sitting in my garage most of the winter waiting for better weather. Upcoming plans:

1. Send out the 4 speed to a local shop to re-gear it. I still need a better first gear to get this car moving
2. Address the running hot issue. It always runs about 200-210 but once I get on the highway, the temp just keeps climbing. Will try a thermostat first. Worst case, I have another radiator to try.
3. Get gas gauge working.

In some BAD news, the gentleman that did all the mechanical work on my car is now fighting for his life. He is battling Leukemia at a hospital in NY. The Doctors say that he is extremely healthy for his age (about 75) so last ditch solution is a bone marrow transplant. Either way, it will be a long road to recovery for him. I will need to source another shop for custom repairs

Just took the wagon to our areas first car show of the season. The annual MDA charity car show. The wagon was a hit! I had a local pinstriper "Hi-Volt" do a thin red pin stripe. What do you think? I think it looks amazing

Pinstripe!

The red pinstripe definitely works with the redlines. Have you clearanced your waterpump? What about the AC baffles around the rad to help control air flow? The timing can also effect your temps. Sweet ride...

This is an absolutely stunning car. I saw it up at Norwalk parked with Don Keefe. I think Don introduced me to you. Your car also looked good in Poncho Perfection.

Love the lines on the '64 in my opinion the side trim actually takes away from them. Recall the GP didn't have side trim. Enclosed is a picture of my '64 2 dr. sedan minus trim.
If you haven't decided on your 4 speed shifter you might want to consider an A-body bench shifter.

The pinstripe looks good. I like your collection of plaid picnic accessories, too.

I also like the pinstripe with the redlines. Very nice touch.

But_

1. Send out the 4 speed to a local shop to re-gear it. I still need a better first gear to get this car moving

makes me wonder about the license plate.

Beautiful car.

If you want to keep it a 4 speed...have you considered the aftermarket "Muncie" by autogear? 1st gear is 2.93...that should help

No, I have not. My main concern is the amount of custom work under the car. I don't want to have to recreate a single thing right now. Easiest solution is to regear my Muncie with the M29 gearset (2.99 first gear) and put it back in the car. No custom anything needed.

I believe the "autogear" IS a direct bolt in. It is also a stronger unit everywhere.

wow....autogear is like 5 minutes away from where I grew up in Syracuse, NY. Funny how they are able to survive in that hell-hole lol

Great to see it out and about - I saw on Facebook your wagon is going to be featured in a Pontiac magazine? Congrats!

With the running hot issue have you shimmed up the water pump clearance? What kind of fan does your engine run? And what kind of ducting/shroud do you have on the motor?

Sweet - I wish we could get it in Australia.

I work on car magazines down here as a journalist myself
