That's going to make an awsome ride. I think the tripower cats from 1958 and up were just the best looking and toughest cars on the road. Good luck, and keep us posted with info and pictures on your progress. Bob

That is a very cool Cat. I put a console in mine. You might be able to make one for a 4 speed if you are not of the totally correct school. I like it, & it enables me to keep the bench seat, which is to me part of the fun. I am seriously considering a 4 speed conversion on this car & will modify the console to match if I do it.

Dave,

I am not laughing at anyone who has the guts to take on rust. I really believe it can be done with modern materials & respect anyone who is willing to make the effort to save a Big Pontiac. Dealing with rust is a Labor of Love. That 4 door is just one labor I would not love enough to take it on.

Default My 1965 Bonneville Convert story

This is definitely not a trailer Queen we live in the southwest corner of Michigan a little town called South Haven.I bought my car from some guy who only bought it so he could pull boats out of the river, because his Jeep wagon couldn't,that was 20 years ago.Since then I have put 160,000+ miles on her with a rebuild of the engine about 40,000mi ago and had the interior redone about the same time.we have gone to DC to see the "Wall" as I am a Viet Vet(Marines) numerous trips to Chicago to visit my family,Niagra Falls, drove north in Michigan to US 2 then drove west to Montana down through Wyoming and back taking only US routes or back roads,we then to the "Yellow Car" to Santa Monica California via RT 66 as much of it we could find even the stretch between Glenrio Texas (saw an abandoned '68 Catilina 2 door hardtop there)to Tucumcari New Mexico where the road is white gravel came back via Interstate 10 to New Orleans, drove around the French Quarter with the top down on Friday night, turned a lot of heads then went to Beal street in Memphis the next night ,then home 7,000 mi round trip in 15 days ,only trouble I had was a blown alternator in The Chino Valley Arizona on the way out.I love these old big cars they were made to enjoy abd they are joy to drive

Just took photos of my 62 this past Labor Day weekend. The Cat has always been a southern Cal car until I purchased it 2 1/2 years ago. I'm the second owner and it has only 73,000 original miles. Since owning I've added new tires, dogdish hubcaps and a new powerbrake booster. Drives very well. Plans next year is a total rebuild of the 389 and switching out the leaky slim jim for a 700 R4. Wanting to strip and repaint in about 3-4 years. Never submitted photos before hope this works.

Tim,

After you have downloaded (clicking browse)from your computer in the manage attachments window, make sure you click UPLOAD right next to the browse button. This should work.

Shrink the files Shrink the file!! We all wanna see your car man!

I'd offer to shrink the files for you but i have no image editors (good ones at least) on my replacement laptop i have here.. They all got lost in the old one!

If you really can't shrink em then post them on some web space and post the link to them so we can check out the big pics!

Wink May be offensive to some Pontiac Lovers

Fall is in the air & had not seen a new post on this thread in a while so... I was at a friend's house, & we took these. I have been driving his car some: '67 Royal Plum SS396 4 speed hellraiser. Note the exhaust was left behind on this day. Finding a few similarities in the 2 cars. Mine will not pull sideways for 35' when catching 3rd like that though. I will have to work on that.

Not sure on that breakdown 67 2+2 but hopefully someone can get those #s now that I'm bumping this thread to the top.

For all others: I took a few shots of the '65 Bonnie yesterday (Saturday) on a strange and marvelous 70+ degree November day here in what is usually bleak Blacksburg, VA.

I took them near a Federal Mogul plant. I thought it added a little bit of automobilia to the scene.

Let me know what you guys think!--

Mike, that profile shot is a keeper. From the looks of those flags, conditions are similar to here. We have 20-35 MPH sustained winds here.

I know a guy who sells a ton of Vintage VA plates for almost every year in VA. He has over 30 thousand of them. Many that are unissued. You can register your car with them at DMV no Prob. If you are interested PM me, & I will dig up his E-Mail.

And speaking of good pics of these big cars,
I've always thought this was a real hot position to post a chick up in your car. It's from the GM photo store.
