A6 replacement hoses
who is a good source for 67 GTO replacement ac hoses. I need to replace this hose on my A6 compressor muffler (pic below) and others. Thanks

Whether you're going to use R12, HFC134a or some other refrigerant, Goodyear Galaxy hoses are a good brand. They are barrier hoses which will prevent leaks on the current small molecule refrigerants and backward compatible with R12.
Since the compressor is off the car, consider changing all the seals and upgrading the shaft seal to a double lip type instead of the original ceramic one. I did this on mine and have not had any problems from shaft leaks or refrigerant oil getting out. Polish the shaft to insure a good seal. Your photo showed the hoses poorly sealed from the atmosphere. You'll need to flush and replace the oil with an oil that is compatible with your refrigerant choice. |
