14" 57 rims to 15" 55-56 rim with poverty caps
Folks,
My recent purchase, a 1957 Pontiac 4-door/3-bench wagon, is going to need new tires. I would like to change to 15 inch rims and keep the small dog dish hub caps. Can I simply get some earlier rims that were 15 inch? My clips on the 14 inch rims are in good shape and the hub cap patina matches the rest of the car. Simply? Ed S 1957 wagon 1966 convertible |

Congratulations on your recent purchase, the 3-seat Chieftain wagons seem to be relatively rare. Production total was 11,536.
Yes, you can use earlier 15 in. Pontiac rims. It's good that you have the clips, they are more difficult to find than the rims. |

If the wheels clear the drums you still may not even get the wheel/tire combo to go into the rear wheel well without a lot of trouble. You will at least have to deflate the tire every time you install/remove it. Maybe even disconnect the shocks.
