Check Ignition switch connector to be fully seated on switch.
Try for a Light bulb on Dizzy power for start and run, so you can see power applied. Checking for spark take 2 people. |

I don’t have my new leads for my multimeter yet but definitely getting spark , using one of those inline testers . It kept trying to light but I quit and checked the plugs - had several wet ones but not like the other day . So I pulled all the plugs and am just gonna let it sit until my next day off . I did make a jumper from the battery to the coil to no different effect .

Again, IF you aren't getting spark In both positions you have to rectify that. If you're sure you are then yes, the problem is somewhere else.
In other words, you need to verify that 12 volts is present while the starter is actually turning and not just showing up when you release the key back to the on position.

Points + 6AL and don;t look back. You can hide the MSD unit if you want to preserve the looks of your very nice car.
Napa CS86 are the good points. Plenty of numbers on this thread. https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=865641 |

So you still have the resistor wire in place. I don't recall what the Pertronix requires but if you go to factory style HEI you need both of those to be 12v. The factory dropped that Start voltage to 9-10 volts to reduce arc damage to the points.
You could try a jumper from the battery to the coil which would apply 12 volts steady and see if it will start.

I asked the guy that ordered the harness too - he said it was non resistor for hei ? I went out and tried it again , battery is on charger so I started out with 13.6 and voltage dropped to 10.7 with & with out jumper to battery . I still have the plugs out . Pertronix wants the resistor wire removed . I get the plugs back in it tonight when I get home .but won’t b able to start it - I fired it up at 11 at night the 1st day I brought it home and the wife got on me pretty bad ! Ran like a top though , came out 10 hours later zip .

Any idea what that resistor wire looks like ? I’m assuming larger .
