With their CNC chamber Edelbrock suggests 9.5:1 compression engines will deliver excellent street performance on low octane fuel.

Thank you for all the help. I was able to work out a trade on the heads for the 87 CC chambered CNC heads also and also flat top pistons. Will be 10.4 and I am happy with that. Now to get it together and installed.

Get rid of those rods ( buy Molnar) and buy some better pistons with at least a 1/16" ring.
The pistons will keep you power potential down and the rods will keep your reliability down.
With all the cast 455 cranks chunking lately I would buy a 4340 crank too.
Good luck with your build.

The Pistons have a 1/16th second ring the crank and the rods were shot peened the machine shop told me to keep those they'd last forever the complete rotating assembly came out of the same 455 I ran for 8 years at 10.75 to 1 with iron heads I was more concerned with the cam specs and the compression being able to tolerate the 91 octane now that I have KRE aluminum heads

My bad, my post was meant for the 11.4-1 455 thread. Not yours.

I think you're confused I only answered you in this post because that's where you posted the Pistons have a 1/16 ring
