Default Looking for correct rubber hood seal

Bodyshop was adjusting the hinges to get the hood to close correctly and realized that the rubber seal I installed 20 years ago is the problem. Guy said it sits high and rubber is hard and is pushing the hood up. Does this make sense to anyone and if so who has the most correct rubber hood seal for 71 GTO?

I recall having a problem with the repro seal and the two rubber numbers in the back. Wound up using the originals instead, problem solved.

I ran into that also. The seal was not the problem after it gets squished over time. The rear hood bumpers were the issue. I had to sand them down.
