Any local upholstery guy should be able to do it if you bring it to him.

You'll get what you pay for.
JD is tops in the game and for me, it's in my face while I drive so it's worth it. My '66 Pad was Re-finished in 1994 and still looks amazing, if I may say so myself

Where to to send a dash to remold depends on which dash assembly you are needing remolded. Needing an oddball molded dash or '69 GP molded lower door panels remolded, have used J D service before, & the need presented again, will do so again. For '69, '70-71, & '72 PONTIAC A-body & early & late 2nd Gen Bird molded dashes, better off sending your dash core to Al Knoch in ElPaso. https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=865362

Tops in the game??? No depends on what style dash!!!

Around '94 first sent Just Dashes a '69 GTO dash, the first of the JUST PUFFIES that I've dealt with remolded by JD. An absolute nightmare to get a center dash vent frame to fit. NO THANKS!

I have had a couple complex padded dash's restored by Just Dash's. IMO, a little puffy, but nice, correct grain and really the only game in town. My complete pad with AC and the center vent for my 66 full size was very nice IMO. It cost $700.00 in color 20 years ago. A very simple flat pad I got an estimate on for a 62 Catalina in black was $1500.00 a couple years ago. So, yes, their cost is out of reach for most people not doing a concours restoration. I had a local trim shop do mine for $450.00. They filled the cracks and recovered it gluing it on with a heat gun. Not perfect, but would do fine in a local car show. Depends on how good you want it I guess. A few pics from a local trim shop.

You can DIY it as well
I did my 70 dash and console turns out fine. The most expensive thing was the high $$ dupont vinyl paint from local paint shop with adhesion stuff and flex I used the Polyvance system in this tube video... Look for like videos.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x8qtvG-Y8U you need a big temp heat iron to melt the plastic strips in then they have a flex body filler and then u need some texture paint. I did big cracks as well as small places too check pix

Good reminder that I need to call them. The dash I had them do 3 years ago gets big bubbles on the top when it warms up in the sun. Still one of the better options out there.

Al Knoch did mine for my 70. Took less than two weeks and ran ~$900. https://alknochinteriors.com/product...ory/dash-pads/

Thanks for all the input. I have used JD several times but it has been a while. They quoted $2000 to do my GP dash so I was looking for a less expensive option

That is a beautiful interior. I really like a colored interior. When restored, they really "pop". Much more difficult to do anything other than black. For that reason, I am glad my next one IS black.

Excellent video on the process of restoring a dash .
Should explain why it's so expensive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi0zbqNau-4

I do my own. They are good enough for my liking and the total cost was less than $100. Final texture is ok, but not factory. Other than maybe a Pontiac show I dont know any concours events that take cars over 1972 so thats not a concern. IF I had a 100K car I might get one professionally done though.
Heres the console I did for my TATA. 2019-03-08_12-28-15 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr 2019-03-08_12-28-51 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr 2019-03-08_05-14-29 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr 2019-03-08_05-14-43 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr |

Wow! You brought that back from the dead. Especially the console. How long ago did you do these repairs and how is it holding up? Just curious. Looks great in the pics.

The dash and console were done maybe 3 years ago? Not in service but sitting in the shop they look no different now than when I did them. I did the dash in my 77 about 8 or so years ago, and it is regularly driven and still looks like the day I installed it. I did another about 8 or so years ago and put it in up in my spare upstairs room, and it still looks fine.
