Coincidence ?
2.11 intake .
Max seat OD of 2.11 x 3.14 = 6.625 circumference. Stock Pontiac Rod ratio = 6.625.

Considering the early Pontiac V8 engines all had smaller intake valves than 2.11” before 1967 I’d have to say it’s a coincidence.

If you only use 2 decimal points for pi then you really should show 2 decimal points in your results. ► 2.11 * 3.14 = 6.6254 which rounds to 6.63 ► 2.11 * 3.141 = 6.62751 Stan

Intetesting, I'm thinking 6.630 is just about the length of the old "rubber" rods while the engine was running.... Maybe there is something more to this.

Lol!
Yes Stan, bored while doing a wash load. The amount those non heat treaded rods stretched was highly dependent on the stroke as I recall from a test done decades ago. In a 317 cid motor they would last a long long time at 6K rpm. in a 455 shifting at 6K even with light pistons and pins , the small end lightened up , fully polished and steel shot peened , ARP rod bolts ,they would not make it thru a complete weekend after weekend race season. I was lucky I did not loose a block when two of mine went south.

You can make numbers say anything you want and your post is a perfect example of that.
But it was worth a smile in the morning. Tom V.

That’s all I intended it to be was a stumbled on smile.

Go figure the Bore Spacing and Deck Height allowed a 265 to grow to 472 (+060..) for same rod length. I suppose the Big Valve 455 is the Big-Stratostreak. |

Probably, along with RPM, reciprocating weight and a bunch of other factors.
