I thought those intakes had a center divider not an open plenum

Have you searched the web for other setups with this manifold? You might need to modify the linkage?

I'am with Tom, I don't think those intakes where ever designed for sideways Carbs to be fitted to them, and this is a comment from someone who use to have one of those intakes.

If the car has a scoop I would think about selling that Intake and getting a Wensler tunnel ram.
These have more of everything from the bottom of the power band to the top.

I got by with sideways on dual quad but there was a primary on each side of divided plenum. Offy linkage.

I can't tell by your picture which side of the radiator the inlet is on. I used to do offy setups for people and used various water necks. You may have to try several but the almost straight up one worked for me most of the time. The setups I did used AFBs not Holleys.

The picture is very hard to see. But possibly the billet housing from Nightmare Performance in CT would fit. The hose neck is almost straight up and the housing is cut-back around the area where their might be interference. Check their web site.
