Older 400 in 1972 A body
I picked up a nice 69 400 w/62 heads from good guy here on the boards. If I wanted to run the engine in my 72 lemans, can it be done? I believe the engine mounts are different. What would I need to do to make it happen? Thanks

OK, I'll start by saying Butler has adapter brackets.

It's a direct bolt in as long as the '72 LeMans came with a 350 Pontiac or 400 Pontiac.
Only time, you would have issues with the '69 & earlier block, is if the LeMans was an original 6 cyl car, or the '72 LeMans was factory optioned with a 455 D port or 455 HO engine.

It's 100% drop in as would be any 421, 428 or even any 455 since they where cast with all of the 5 needed bolt holes on each side of the block to go into the 70 and up F body cars.
