Default Cam and stock converter

It's been a long time since running a stock converter. I just got done building a 200r4 trans for my street car. Looking up the numbers It stalls at 1500-1600 with the original 305 engine. I am building a 400 with small cam to replace the 455 in it now.
I want to install it in the car now with the 455. Replacing the th400 with 10" converter. It has a cam like the ram air 4 (.234/244 on 112). How will a stock converter act with this cam? Will it die when I put it in gear?
I want to get the trans dialed in before I put the new engine in a couple months from now.

Good question. Running a mostly stock 200 4r behind my 400 since august. Shift kit along with governor mods to get the WOT shift correct, shifts around 5000rpm now.

Wondering about a better convertor as well.

455 with a Ram Air cam? Well I have an .030 over 455 with 87cc Edelbrock heads and the Crower 60919 which is based on the Pontiac 041. I have a basically stock converter. With street tyres I have to leave from idle and apply throttle gently. Anything else blows the rears into smoke. So I can’t see why it would be an issue for you if you aren’t on slicks or DOTs.

I have a T200-4R with a Precision 10 inch LOCKUP converter behind a 600 hp engine with good luck.

Grand nationals came with a D5, lock up, stock converter, 2800 stall at 0psi usually. These are still around if you're looking for one in your 200.
