1969 Trans Am
So a couple months ago my friend bought a '69 Trans Am RA3 4 speed. He is now the 4th owner. He bought it from a childhood friend. It has been in his friends family since new. The video is my friend filming his buddy he bought it from taking his boys for the last ride before it was loaded on the trailer to it's new home.

Boy do I feel bad for that guy. Those kids are gonna be pissed later! And let a family heirloom go like that. Idk what motivates some people to do such things. As for the car I’d leave it just the way it is and not restore it. Maybe just kill some of the rust w evaporust or something The way it sits is it’s story . Seems fairly intact the way it sits.

I haven't had a chance to see it yet in person but I don't think so California as far as I know didn't have emission stickers. I've never had one on anything I've owned

By enlarging the sticker on the left 1/4 glass it says “family heirloom, sorry no sale”.

Reminds me of when we bought our all original 69 TA in 1977 for $3200. The guy we bought it from wanted a new 1977 Z28. The paint was still in good shape at the time and we drove it everyday, just a used old muscle car back then. It went through my two brothers and my mother. BTW, we still have it!

Kudos to the friend who sold it to a friend who had been admiring the car for a long time and will appreciate it. If the original owner family was enjoying the car, doubtful they would be selling it. No, the kid in the back seat didn’t look too thrilled but it might not be because dad was selling the car.
I’ll also add that the TA appears to be a $50k car in the current market. I think I’d kick myself a lot less for selling a $50k car than I would looking back and having sold the same car 40 years ago for two grand. Last edited by will slow gto; 11-16-2022 at 11:39 AM. |
