Just got my block back from the machine shop, and noticed this threaded hole was wide open. Can someone help me name it, and what it’s purpose is? Thank you!

Wow I knew sticks were millennial anti theft devices but didn’t known we’d gotten so far down that line that people don’t recognize a clutch pivot threaded hole anymore nit picking on the OP just can’t believe it’s gotten this far along sign of the times .

Appreciate the help. Have only had experience with automatic Pontiacs I’m afraid, and just wanted to make sure I wasn’t supposed to plug that sucker up, like the reference photo.

Some of us would be very happy that the block machining is still there for that clutch pivot ball stud.
