Well ... I guess it's finally done ... well except for some sorting out.
Made the wife dress up sort of period correct ... 70's ? Lighting wasn't great to show off the Verdora.

Looks really, really good! Paint job looks fantastic. Reminds me a lot of the first 'finished' photos of mine. Same black steelies, poverty caps, black vinyl top and gravel driveway.
Fun photo too... Ask for period correct, I'm thinking cowboy hat and boots covers quite a bit of time... So I think she's good there.. LOL

I'm so hoping it doesn't get ratty looking with age ... is the first of the "finished" photos the best it ever looks?
I've never owned a vehicle that was basically just for fun and preservation ... so I'm unsure of the future.

I had an epiphany one day.
I have several paint chips and small dings on my car that have been acquired over the past decade. The epiphany was this- Every single one of those various cosmetic flaws happened in my garage. The moral? Drive it.

My wife knows my shop habits ... she keeps saying ... "You better get a cover soon"
Right now the front bumper is about 18" away from my milling machine and lathe.

That is excellent advice. I would amend that with get the thickest most ding resistant cover you can find. Definitely saved me a few heartbreaker moments.

I really need to get one of those myself. If for no more reason than the dust we have out here. It's been very dry here the last 6 weeks or so and every time a car goes down the road, a hundred yards away, a cloud of dust rises through the woods and crosses my yard. Sometimes I can literally feel the grit in my mouth.
We could really use some rain here.

Looks awesome and those fall colors helps it bling. Great to see your better half enjoying the car too not sure if mine would be so open to a photo moment.
Wish you both many happy miles. |
