1971 Formula production stats
Is there a source for production numbers for the Formula birds? In other words, is there a breakdown of more specifics such as colors? A/C? Power brakes? Power windows? Etc.

The only place I've seen info like that is in a book titled: "The Definitive Firebird & Trans Am Guide 1970 1/2-1981" by Rocky Rotella.
The info is in the appendix section in the rear of the book, but there are no breakdowns by colors, just options such as the three you mentioned for 1971, (see below). Unfortunately it's not broken down by model, (Formula) and I assume it's for all Firebirds. There are a few exceptions, where the options were only available on a certain model. For example, the L75 455 engine (350 total installed), LS5 455HO (321 total installed), and Ram Air Induction (109 total installed) are all listed as (Formula Only). Power Windows - 2,542 total installed Custom Air Conditioning - 30,493 total installed Power Brakes (except Trans Am) - 27,788 total installed. The most popular option listed is Power Steering (except Trans Am) with 48,352 total installed. The rarest option is a self charging flashlight with 12 total installed. One thing that folks seem to forget with "numbers of options" is that what is a cost option on a Formula, is part of a package on say, an Esprit.
you could take up 6 option listings on a Formula window sticker that a Esprit is listed as standard. This is why you will sometimes see a Formula with a long list, Not much was included in a base Formula and probably 90% got recessed wipers, which was Standard ONLY on a Esprit and T/A. Pats Info is sure interesting...

Thank you RicksGTO for the link. Great info posted by Pat Brown back in '07. I remembered seeing it but could not find it. Spectacular!
