Default Refurb cylinder heads

Does anyone have a suggestion of Pontiac-knowledgeable machinists in the Chicago metro area to refurb a set of heads?

I have heard good things about Auto Machine in St. Charles. Is Ron Rocci in the greater Chicago area?

Auto Machine looks impressive. I'll look up Paul K also.

Auto Machine in St. Charles did my heads, block and crank. They are the best in the NW Suburbs. I've sent them multiple referrals and the guys have been very happy with their work and quick turn around. They charge approximately half of what Fast Time Motorsports charges also.

Forget Ron Rocchi, you'll be glad you did. I bought a set of heads he had that he claimed to have completely "done". Ever seen a set of freshly machined and ported heads that still had FelPro Blue head gasket imprints on the machined surfaces and exhaust ports still full of carbon? How about 1.70" IH springs crammed onto standard Dport valves? Nice guy to talk to, just don't let him work on your car or buy anything he is selling and you'll get along fine.

Don't go near Technically Automotive in Aurora either. The guy is a self-proclaimed Pontiac expert. His shop looks like a junkyard of used parts laying everywhere. He built a small block Chev for a buddy (young kid) and charged him new prices for used parts he scavenged from his coffee cans full of valves, springs, retainers, pushrods, etc. and the cast-off motors scattered all over his shop. The kid had also dropped off a big block Chevy for a rebuild for his boss 2 years ago and it still isn't done.
