70 Bright Blue SeatCovers
I know this topic has been beat to death here over the years.....but here we go again.
PUI product is the wrong color.......close but no cigar... When Legendary got into the program......I heard that they nailed it... Just got a bright blue sample from Ames (Legendary)....and not real close to my original upholstery... Sample has that silver tinge to it....not unlike PUI..... Anybody bought Legendary recently in this year and color? |

I changed only the seat bottom of the drivers' seat with Legendary. Everything else for the seats is original. Did this around September of 2017. |

Good to know....
.My original back seats are perfect....and door panels very respectable......so I need a good match.... Speaking of good match.....Did you have to re-paint any of your plastic bits....and if so....what did you use? I need to paint dash and kick panels...rear plastic,etc... |

Green Hornet,
Cool name BTW. The only items in the picture not original are the console and the plastic that goes around the inside door handle. The console was changed as the car was converted from auto to stick. That conversion was done before I purchased the car. The paint match on the console is really good. The glove box cover on the console is from the original automatic console. I don't know the paint used. It was done by a shop in upstate NY that is now out of business. The plastic cover for the door handle was really bad. The plastic was very brittle and bugged me so I had it changed. The paint I used was the paint available from Ames. Part number VDM14 on page 20 of catalog F25. It is not an exact match, but it is in the ballpark. If I were you, I would get something else since you have a lot to paint. However, the paint mixture could have changed since mine was done in September of 2017. You might get a can and see if it works for you. Hope this helps. I would consider SEM products for painting the interior parts. Vinyl Pro out of GA can mix custom colors to match or off the shelf SEM colors...good company to work with.

I bought a bright blue interior from Legendary in 2014 for my 70 TA. The seat covers matched a well preserved original headrest perfectly. Oddly, the door panels were a somewhat different hue...I wasn't too happy about it. Fixing it would have required sending everything back, and a 4-6 week delay. So I had some paint matched to the seats and did the door panels along with all the hard interior trim pieces. The blue color in the photo looks a little deeper than in real life.
