Default Idea to remove/replace wiper arms easier

I am replacing the arms on the Lemans after a rebuild.

I do not have the special tool to hold the clip and spring. Examining the wiper arm it has a little bulkhead next to the splined section. I drilled a small pilot hole from the inside, then a 3/16" hole from the outside. This will allow a Phillips or Torx screwdriver to be inserted into the hole - giving excellent leverage.

A bent piece of round stock would do the same thing, allowing one hand to maintain tension and position while the other futzes with that wee clip.

Needless to say this will leave a small hole on the outside of the arm so some purists may be offended. To me, the factory should have done this...
