535 IA2 E-head engine, carb-to-pan or shortblock
First off - I don稚 really want to sell this engine. But if someone wants it at the below price, I知 willing to let it go. If I still have it come spring, I知 considering a cam swap and piston swap, and putting it in my 70 GTO.
This was built for my 65 Lemans drag car, which I just recently sold. So, this is just sitting in the garage on an engine stand now taking up room. Details (best I can recall off the top of my head): IA2 iron block, all machine work done by Butler Rotating assembly purchased from/balanced by Butler: Scat forged crank, scat forged rods, Ross forged flat-top pistons Little over 12:1 compression (12.2 or 12.3 iirc) Older set of E-Heads, round port , purchased used, 81cc chamber, flow approx 335cfm@ .700 Cosmetic head gaskets Dry-deck block and heads water passages plugged Victor port-matched intake, 4500 flange Comp solid roller spec壇/purchased from Butler and matching valvetrain: 276/284 @.050, .440 lobes (would have to verify but I have the cam card) 1050 Holley tuned for this combo by Shaker455 Butler 80psi oil pump Harland sharp 1.65 rockers, the heavy duty ones Smith Bros pushrods (heavy-wall, maybe .135 iirc?) Aerospace components vacuum pump Tall alum valve covers CSR Electric water pump Romac balancer RollMaster timing chain TCI Sfi flexplate Canton pan Crank scraper Everything except distributor and starter. Drop it in, hook up your dizzy and starter, and you池e ready to rock. Engine had 3 easy 1/8 mile passes and maybe 5 miles messing around the neighborhood (low speeds), otherwise just an occasional startup in the garage to warm it up and tune it. Starts great, runs awesome. I would estimate it in the 675-700 horsepower range. Maybe more? $12,500. I知 not interested in haggling price on this right now. If someone wants/needs it, there it is. If not, I知 perfectly content to keep it and use it in my 70 GTO. Would also consider selling just the shortblock (pan to deck, including cam, lifters and timing chain) for $7500. Firm. Not particularly interested in shipping, but if buyer wants to make the arrangements I値l work with them on it. (Buyer pays shipping). PM me here, and we値l go from there. -Matt

Good meeting you and your dad today. I think it will work great in his 68 Firebird!
