Need connectors for conv top motor
I put in relays for my headlights on one of my 68 Lemans’ (works great and lights are SO much brighter) and finally got around to put in relays for the convertible top circuit.
I was able to get creative with the headlight circuit as to not cut up or alter original harness and would like to do same for top motor. So I separated the harness clip by the top motor and would like to buy the same connectors so I can feed my relay panel (And then connect output of relays to motor) without cutting into the harness wires. That way I can return to original if need be for a future owner. Here’s what the connectors look like. I will use spade connectors if I can’t find originals or new connectors that fit these. Thanks.

You could check with https://www.lectriclimited.com - I took a quick look and it appears they only show wiring harnesses on their website, but it may be worth a phone call to see if they'll sell individual connectors.

Thanks for the links folks. Timely post, I'm in the same boat, want to do some rehab on my 68 harness and I'll probably need a few connectors.
I'm assuming the harness building companies have a source for these parts, they probably don't manufacture them in house. Also ... anyone know where to get color coded wires to match OEM colors? My harness is in decent shape but will need some individual wires replaced and I'd like to use original color wires. Thanks |

Found what looks like a good source for code wire, pretty much any color with any tracer color.
https://www.ynzyesterdaysparts.com/ Still not much lucking finding application specific connectors based on year/model etc. |

Ran across this today in my search for a certain type of connector.
https://jcaparts.com/collections/pon...ector-housings M & H also has wiring. Scroll down to the end of the harness section http://www.wiringharness.com

Readily available on eBay. Search for Packard GM connectors, I think series 56. Added relays for my pwr convertible top switch as well.

I toyed with doing it a bit different at first by mounting the relays under the dash but with an A/C car there wasn’t much room.

I plan on doing same mod for my other ‘68 convertible so if you can locate a male and female connector with wires attached I’d prefer using those and I’d still take them.

I just got a variety of tools for removing the wires from the plugs, work pretty nice. Can take a bit of fiddling but the wires do come out. Eventually I'll look into getting the tool to put new metal connectors on the ends of the wires.
With the right tools you can basically make all kinds of harness repairs and modifications without any mid-harness splices. |

Looks professional KK!
I might have gone that same route if I had the dash apart and could go in from the top (AC car) so that’s one reason I placed relay panel on upper back seat structure. I was replacing the carpet and putting down some hush mat so I took the opportunity to send a 10 gauge feed wire alongside the rear harness. I wanted to have power in the trunk to feed a couple of other relay circuits anyway (light, trunk release, and hidden LoJack). With age the original circuit had a voltage drop and always seemed the motor would struggle to get through the lifting operation. Now it runs up/down effortlessly. Also not the best idea to make/break high current circuit with a switch. Pits the contacts and increase resistance. Switch now has it easy as it passes low current just to pick up the relays. If anyone wants photo and/or explanation I’d be glad to share.
