Who Does Crower Currently Source Their HFT Lifters From?
Hi, I am well aware that the HFT lifter has been discussed over and over, and most agree the Hy-Lift Johnson is the way to go, when they are available. At the speed that things change nowdays, I figured I would start a conversation with a question about the Crower HFT lifters. Anybody know where the Crower Camsaver HFT lifters for SBC/Pontiac are currently being sourced?
Thanks

From what I've read here, I'd say the ONLY way to find out would be to buy a set, examine them closely, take 'em apart, and post pics of 'em here. Maybe the experts here can come to an agreement as to exactly who made 'em.
I can only say what I've found. I assume it's been about 2 years ago now. The cheap Jegs lifters, which they advertise as being made in the USA, have the low groove which some here say means they are made by Delphi, which have a hardened foot. I bought 'em because I was on a real low budget & needed the cheapest USA made lifters I could find. Don't know what lifters would be in a Jegs or Summit box now. Some have said that Hylift Johnson & Delphi are the only USA made HFT lifters currently available for a Pontiac V8. The Eatons are supposedly made in Mexico. Some Johnson(not Hylift Johnson) lifters are supposedly made, or at least assembled in the USA. But, the Johnson brand Pontiac/Olds HFT lifters are made by some other company. At least that's what I've read. Rhoads is said to use Hylift Johnson cores. There have been all sorts of claims. Then somebody said that a Hylift Johnson rep told him that they didn't sell to ANY cam company. So, does anybody here REALLY know who made the lifters that will come in a Crower Camsaver box, if ordered today ? Might help if someone here who has received a box of 'em, LATELY , would post some pics, or at least let us know if they have made a positive ID. Last edited by ponyakr; 09-08-2020 at 09:29 PM. |
