This LS1 motor was built in Louisiana, Dynoed RWHP, and then driven back to Florida with the A/C on and got 25 MPG... Possibly the highest RWHP N/A LS1 in the country...

This belongs to a fellow club member, and friend, Vince AKA "DaTruth" on most boards.

He has a two stage NOS system in the works...

Told ya, we have some serious street cars in Florida.

Nah, actually More Performance in NC makes a 750 hp NA LS1. Their 550 hp version is actually emissions-compatible. Check'em out: http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/

But, their numbers are Motor Dyno numbers...

Vince's numbers are actual RWHP numbers as installed with A/C. Plus it's a street car, as it was driven from Louisiana to Tampa Florida.

Almost $31K for the More LS6 Race motor package... Installed and tuned, it will give very similar numbers to Vince’s...

I would rather have the motor Daves dyno #'s reflect. RW's is where it's at...

So you're saying they made the dyno run with the A/C on?

As far as the reliability of More's package, I originally read about it in GMHTP. The guy wanted a drag motor he could run every weekend and not have to go into for three years. I would imagine the pricetag reflects the reliability.

Anyway, the original post said "possibly the most powerful N/A LS1 in the country". I was merely pointing out he was short a couple hundred horsepower.

As far as similar numbers go, you guys are saying that the drivetrain is going to absorb 200 hp? Exactly how are you going to get rid of 150,000 watts of heat? That's enough power to raise the temperature of one pound of iron 1,321 *F per second. Where are you going to put a cooler that big?

Danny, post up your RWHP numbers then and your combo. Remember, that is at the rear wheels, not on a stand. And it is naturally aspirated.

When it is finished, again, I will, just like the last one I posted a while back...

And as far as nitros goes, this man has never used it, and never will. It's like viagra, if you need it, use it, if you don't, be proud of it...and I am proud...

First off the motor they are selling is making 725HP on a motor dyno. That motor installed in a car, with all accessories will dyno around 600 RWHP. Vince made 560 RWHP for 1/3 of the costs, and it's a STREET combo. The above combo you mention is a RACE combo...

And yes, accessories and driveline will eat up a lot of HP, an average of 14 to 20% depending on the combo...

But you can't base the amount of horsepower absorbed by accessories and drivetrain on a percentage. You use the percentage as a rule of thumb, but at 4500 rpm, say, the accessories are going to absorb X amount of horsepower regardless of how powerful the engine is - why would the power steering care if the motor makes 200 hp or 500 hp? Same for the transmission, unless things are slipping and if that's the case you've got bigger problems. An automatic will absorb a little more horsepower with a stronger engine, but not 200 hp worth or you'd boil the fluid in less than a second.
