Default Rear Disc adjustment

I'm going to try one more time to adjust my rear discs as the pedal is real mushy. My question is after I adjust the E brake arm How tight should the E Brake cable be. I'm going to loosen the cable to make putting the cable back in to the arm easier, And how many times should the E brake be pushed in to adjust the brakes? Plus if the caliper is bad who sells a driver side caliper? I've been looking for a year. (on and off).
