Right on. Since this thread I acquired and installed a Lemans dash that is in much better shape than my previous POS. For the time being I have decided to leave the dash alone and focus elsewhere. But I am not beyond a future upgrade or sidegrade. I will keep up on your thread to see what develops with your project!

I did Classic Instruments in the 442, did a quad gauge in one spot, speedo, tach, in the other slots. Can see them on my build page for it.

I ended up doing the Thunder Road insert, with custom Speedhut gauges in the new project, I really like the gauges, the insert, not so much. It takes a ton of mods to make work, trimming the crap out of the metal framing of the dash, have to fab the center vent bracket, as well as the radio mounting. Not fun.

You can see the setup on my judge build thread. As much as I had to cut away, I might as well have done a double din, wouldn't have been much more work.

Unless you're OK with butchering the dash bracing, and never being able to go back to factory, then guess you would be ok with the Thunder Road insert, otherwise, go stock, or the Dakota Digital setup.

This should give you an idea of the amount of work it is to install a Thunder Road insert for a 70-72 LeMans/GTO/Tempest.

As ugly as it looks, it turned out as clean as it could be when it was done. I added things like USB ports for thumb drives, AUX input for iPhones etc, and an ECU USB port with a cover. Also did an LED dimmer switch.

You can see how challenging the center AC vent can be too.

EDIT: I was using an AAW classic update harness.

Nice work! Stuff like that is what I aspire to achieve, and then life gets in the way and I lose patience. My Lemans rewire started out really clean, and then I got sloppy. Kudos to you!

That was a lot of work. Have to figure out routing, the accessories in play, ability to possibly add future accessories/loads, allow for movement (to prevent chafing), etc.

The Painless and AWW harnesses have no loom, and it kills me when I see folks using zip ties to hold it all in place. I use the nylon mesh split loom, with loose tape at sections. There is some zip ties I used, but they too are loose, and are only for initial organization.

It's the same loom Holley and others use for EFI harnesses, so it's nice to have it all match.

Keep in mind too that you need to scope connectors for the amp load being used in a circuit. That's why you see a variety of connectors in my harnesses. Using diff connectors also helps prevent connection mistakes for circuits.

The judge project engine compartment wiring is near invisible, you have to actually look hard to see any wires, other than ones that can't be hidden. It takes time to figure that all out.
