70 TA complete rotisserie build done
You folks have been a great help on a 'as correct as possible' 71 HO455 TA were building, thought id post up pics of another we finished.
This came to us as a bare body on a cart, an enclosed trailer full of old parts including the correct RAIII engine with a rod hanging out of it, mated to its 4 speed, and a bin literally full of NOS GM parts still in the box from the 1980s. This was a "put it together, im gonna drive it' restoration, so we didnt get hung up on some correct parts that were missing, like alternator, belts, headlamps, exhaust, wheels, etc... The block had a cracked pan rail and a hole the size of my thumb in the bottom of the water jacket from rod #5, which was in 10 pieces in the pan.. With the customers insistence and an agreement that theres zero warranty on the engine, it was welded up, filled with 1" of hard blok, machined and assembled to factory specs, including the correct, original to the car, big dollar RAIII/4 speed carb. Here she is, ready for its 'shakedown' delivery. We complete our customers builds, drive them, make adjustments, then deliver. They keep a notepad in the glove box to note any concerns or issues, then return them a few hundred miles later for completion and punch list items. This one came out beautiful, drives beautiful, and so far the engine is holding up fine! Thanks for all your help on this forum, some on this build, and most on the 71, which is near completion as well. PS- the endura nose was hammered and a HUGE struggle on this! After 2 failed attempts, I followed PaulAtFast's directions from this forum to a T and it came out perfect. Thanks Paul!! |

Very, very nice! I'll look for it in Charlotte myself.
Could you please PM me with details about the dash pad? If it was restored by an outside source, I'd like to know where. I paid big money to have a customer's '78 T/A dash recovered and things aren't fitting as they should. |
