Strange that it has the wrong shaker decal for the 400 engine.

May have been a factory mistake, I have heard of similar things happening. Also said car had been "refreshed", it may have happened at that time. Beautiful car regardless.

Don't believe anything is ever original.
Imagine comparing the refinement to an AM. |

I looked at that car Wednesday....IMO, it’s a repaint. Shaker decals wrong, sail panel birds that should not be there and the Trans Am decal on the front bumper was cleared over. The restored 78 SE was a much nicer TA.

Very well may have been. The add simply said it was 'refreshed', but who knows what that means? Just because the mileage is low doesn't mean it will be in mint condition, even if the stated mileage is true! I looked at a n 81 turbo car that had less than 30k miles that had been parked behind a barn and looked worse than a car that had been driven 300k miles. One needs to be careful when buying at an auction. Def a case of buyer beware. I have seen copies of documents that one signs to get their bidder number that pretty much says that the auctioneer has no responsibility for anything sold or how its represented. Consigner can put whatever they want on the placard and its up to the buyer to figure things out.

Correct, no sail panel birds on TATA's from the factory.

If any paint really needs to be redone, its the silver on the79TATA's Mine was flaking, and drying out .with almost no signs of life.

It should have. Looked better there than on the fender.

Yea it seems for some reason that silver paint fails first. Not sure why, maybe in the chemical makeup.
