Previous Pontiac Powered 1941 Willys Coupe Is Survivor of Gasser Wars
https://www.hotrod.com/articles/hemi...r-gasser-wars/ "Mader asked him if it still had its Pontiac engine and Olds rearend. “No,” Randy told him, “no motor. Just the Pontiac emblem on the doors, and a Tri-Five rearend to roll it around.” Randy said Mader “wasn’t all that happy” to learn Randy put a Hemi in the car. “He wanted a Pontiac back in it,” Randy says, admitting, “I should have done a Pontiac motor. And if Gil and I didn’t have all this Hemi stuff, that’s what he’d be doing now.” .

What a shame they replaced the Pontiac engine with a Hemi.

Randy was standing in my motorhome last year talking about a steel Willys he’d had for 30 years and never mentioned it had a Pontiac history. My son was racing his boss’s ‘41 Willys stick car at the time and I towed it there for them. His boss (also named Randy) and Randy know each other from building hot rods. Both are very good at it.
Pretty neat to read this article now. |

There was a Pontiac powered Anglia Gasser here. On the hood scoop it said "Lil' GTO". Unfortunately, last season the guy pulled the Pontiac and put in a SBC so he can go faster.
