Is a 69 TA hood that much more heavier than a standard hood?? I'm asking because the gas shock on the hood hinges I bought don't seem to be able to support my hood.

It isn't noticeably heavier to me. I had to use stock hood springs on mine as I couldn't find the special lower tension spring it originally came with reproduced. I did have my hinges rebuild with oversize pins and they work great.

Remember the upper ram air pan and all the stuff attached to it!I am told T/As have larger hood springs so your gas shocks might not be up to the task.Tom

The Ta's had lighter hood springs as they were worried the hood would get folded in half with the re-enforcement cut in the hood for the RA tubes.

had this problem with the EMS hinges, you need the HD struts, they sent me the middle pressure struts and they didn't work either.
