Make sure you use Comp roller lifters. By most reports they are the only ones with the oil provisions in the correct place.

I have a similar cam in me KRE headed 455. Just slightly larger with faster ramp lobes.
Even up at 5000 feet it makes 13” of vacuum at warm idle, doesn’t buck or sputter at low speeds and has a noticeable chop to it. I think that cam in your application would be quite good!

They are XE hydraulic roller lobes custom ground with a 112 lobe separation.
Page 21 here: http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...terCatalog.pdf The "B" after the lobe number is a roller cam lobe suffix code relating to the journal diameter. .

Do a search for hyd rollers not pumping up on here. There is an outline for modifying the block. Unless your going to do that block mod I wouldn’t chance the Lunati lifters.

So are you running 455 round port ho heads, and if so what year?
Also are you running Exh Manifolds?

I run the Lunati lifters in my 455. If I had to do it over again, I'd get the new Comp lifters. These do clatter slightly at idle when the car warms up and the oil pressure drops to about 15psi. These really need to see about 20 psi to keep quiet and continually pumped up. Off idle, they're fine and I haven't had any issues with them.
If your engine keeps a bit higher idle psi, they'll probably work well for you. If not, I'd consider the purchase of the comp lifters as suggested.

I have the comps and mine clatter too though. I think they have need to be tightened an extra 1/4 turn.
