I noticed it appears someone "helped themselves" to the plastic valance panel.

It won't be me, but I'm betting someone with great body repair skills will save this one. But not for a $25K purchase price.

This may have been one of the several that were in FLA and on ebay over the span of about 4-5 years, They came from the Buffalo NY area, I got probably the best one of the bunch, the adds on them were not very accurate when they were on ebay. A local guy bought the one I got and somehow after that it ended up at a Copart Auction place close to where it started in Rochester ny. With a classic car dealer in CA in between(don't ask I have on idea). I spoke to the guy in Fla, the other cars while numbers were real rough, one was painted black, most in my opinion were borderline restorable on a good day. The one I got was advertised as having a rear end noise and another 455 HO motor, wrong on both counts, big car 455, no rear axle noise rod knock though Lol. Glad I did not pay the 25 K he wanted back in the day!

This guy must know the guy with the 70 esprit Police car, no? hehe . I just worked on a Bronx car from same dealer, and its frames needed work. Actually, it needed whole frames. Its on the road though lol.
Probably worth 22K , but he will have a tough time selling it out in Ca. they see anything brown, and run...

Yeah, I know, the seller is dreaming, but I do have a question about this car. I spotted the remote hood release. I've asked here before and somebody told me they were an option. Don't know what years they were available. Anyhow, seems odd the factory would have mounted it right on top of the engine compartment decal that tells all the engine tuning information. Just wondering.

Hope the seller gets a grip on the price. He's selling you a cup of coffee and expecting a $100 tip.

When I hear guys that are restorers on here say, that's crazy, that tells me what I need to know.

Interior hood releases were usually Over the Counter / Dealer Installed back then.

You can sell a Cali Car in the Bronx
But not a Rusted Up Bronx Car in Cali

Its a shame the car is a victim of circumstances. (driven in salt)
You can tell the original owner otherwise tried to keep the car very original.
Its going to have surprises all over and under.

$15 - 20k ... maybe
if Madonna buys it to restore.

I think more than that, with all of the expensive parts, my guess is 25/30k but yes absolutely plenty of surprises

just saw someone posted a link to this eBay auction in the for sale section. '72 Sundance Orange Formula 455HO with beige deluxe interior, I think I see a plastic valance on it which is unusual. Looks like it's got some rust and is missing the original engine but what a great color combination. There have been 3 eBay auctions on it, the 1st auction showed it sold for $11,000, the 2nd showed one bid of $7,850 and no longer available, and the 3rd auction is identical in time and bids to the 2nd auction and still an active auction so just pointing out the possible red flags in case anyone pursues it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Pontia...0AAOSw9zxbRtpV

you're right, that pic was sideway and the console is smashed but it's there! I think the interior color was originally called covert beige which was a lot of beige and brown but I guess the consoles and dash would still have been black?

I wasn't sure on the interior color either. The covert reminds me of sandalwood, although the dash and console look darker (almost greenish) to me and the interior looks more gray than the tan color of sandalwood.. These pictures are of that low mileage original Esprite that was for sale a few months ago. I made an offer on it, but I didn't get the car.

I usually don't care for orange cars, but Sundance Orange is an exception. Add white interior and it's damn good looking (although I would have restored this car with deluxe interior.

It does have a lot of potential and a very rare car at that.

Here's a new one ('71 TA) to look at. You four speed guys, is your transmission red or orange? Just wondering.
