Default solid roller to hydraulic roller

i am considering swapping out my solid roller for a hydraulic roller, looking to reduce maintenance on my street & strip deal.
the current cam is a SD performance supplied, comp 268/271 @ 50, on a 112 lsa,, i am only revving to approx. 6200 and the car has run 11;06 @ 125 mph, i think this cam would make power out past 6500.
i was thinking of using SD's roadpaver hyd cam, my question is does anyone think i would lose much in the 1/4, because i don't want to lose anything & would prefer to gain a little, i am going to make a few improvements like port the torker 2 and up the carb to a 1000cfm has a 950 on it now, holley so not a true 950.
the car is a 67 FB, 470 cid, t400, 3.55 trutrak, 3500 conti converter
any opinions appreciated.
cheers

What heads are you running?
Fwiw i doubt you'll lose much if any going to a custom hyd roller. We are currently running 9.5-9.7 (depending on weather) with a hyd roller.

How many miles do you put on a year?

How many times a year are you setting your valves?

How much are the valves out when you check them?

To help compare to a hydraulic replacement what is your valve lash and what is the valve lift of the solid cam.

Do you have the cam card from the solid cam you can post?

miles max 1000 a year, but may start doing more.

only about twice but I can't do it so have to pay my mechanic, (confined to wheelchair)

usually not a lot

cam lift is 660 and I think the lash is set at about 20, not 100% on this.

I don't have the card at the moment, at work on night shift, lol

I like the cam it is pretty docile on the street, but we are going to give it a freshen up, has lost some oil pressure at idle down to 10 lbs, been running it for about 8 years, may have done 300 passes.
cheers

I am sure Tom S can speak to Pontiac's as I have only run hydraulics in them. But I run have run both solid flat tappet and rollers in a number of different engines. Once everything is seated / mated you should be able to put thousands of street miles and some passes at the track without needing to check them.

Hopefully I have the right lobe profiles. I pulled some numbers from the master lobe list and computer generated some lift curves. The green line is the solid and the red line is the hydraulic.
