1967 GTO Shoulder Belt Mounts
Folks,
Putting shoulder belts in, does anybody have a good pic or measurements where the two shoulder belt mounting holes are located along the roofline? Or a way to sneak under the headliner to confirm? Thanks in advance, resisting the urge to poke and swear......

This should do. Rear mounting bolt 1 3/8" forward from coat hook screw.

You can feel the bolt holes just by pressing on the headliner. Just study the photo Charles posted really well. Use an pointed X-Acto blade to make a small x cut in the center of the bolt holes so the bolt just goes in thru the X you made in the fabric. The rubber will cover it all up but don't take chances.
Be careful drilling for the screws for the shoulder belt retainers. Make sure you have metal under each attachment point before you drill the holes for the chrome screws. You don't want to ruin your headliner and not be able to get a screw in. They don't grab air too well.

Shoulder belts in my 67. When I got the car 25 years ago all the belts were gone.

I am thinking of installing shoulder belts in my 67 GTO hardtop. For those of you who have done this either by an aftermarket kit or NOS, what are the results? Any advice before I buy a kit? Pitfalls? Thanks

Was there a bracket for holding the other end of the male belt to the headliner to keep it up and out of the way when entering and exiting? I believe my '69 GP had them.
