32,000 gto's in 1964 ???
everything i've read said 32,000 gto's were produced in 1964. so if the 1965 gto came out in sept of 64, how many of those 32,000 were just 64's ?
or am i reading too much into it ?

The 1964 is for the Model Year, nothing to do with the actual date.
Model year ran something like Aug/Sept 1963 to Aug/Sept 1964 (not sure of the actual dates, sure someone will say)

According to Gunnel's Standard Catalog of Pontiac:
1964 model year production started 9-3-63 and finished 8-2-64. 1965 model year production started 8-24-64 and finished 8-19-65. It is not clear to me if that is specific to the home plant in Pontiac Michigan, or if those dates are a composite of the earliest plant in one location and the latest plant somewhere else. K
