Default I smell a scam

I got an unusual text message today. It had a phone number at the beginning and the message said that I had over $760 grand that I needed to claim and gave a web address.
I smell a scam that wants to access my back account.

Ya think?!?

I got an email this morning from someone I never heard of, that claimed to be on their deathbed in a cancer facility and they just wanted to leave their fortune to me. How could I be so lucky?

I get them all the time.... from Nigeria and Europe. They are all phishing scams. You can mark them as phishing scams in your email. I can and do in MSN's Outlook email. Your email provider with check them out and see to it that you don't receive them from the same sender. But as you know, someone else will send them to you.

And be careful. They are known to sometimes have viruses in them. So don't open them.

They can still attach a virus to it. A friend as gotten them on his cell phone from text messages. If I don't know who sent the text message to my phone I delete it as fast as I can.

I was recently selling a motorcycle helmet for $50 on CR.
Got an email response to send an email to his dad who was very interested.
Email to my private account said that he would pay me double and his associate would arrange the funds asap, since he was a nurse and could not contact me directly due to his crazy working hours, and would arrange pick up after the funds were in my account.
I told him that his grammar, punctuation and spelling were the worst I've ever seen and told him to f-off.
He emailed me back that I was welcome to teach him proper English.
I responded...no problem if you are willing to fly me to Nigeria and pay all my expenses...he never replied.
