Default Advice: Rally Gauges, Buying or Restoring

I’m ready to re-install the dash and gauges as I piece together my ground-up resto-mod. My car came with idiot lights; naturally, I want gauges. If I have to buy the Rally Gauge Package from Ames ($370.00) I will but I’d prefer to use the original metal casing and speedometer. Anyone know if it’s possible to just replace the gauges and who might sell them? Also, is there a company that can rebuild the original clocks with modern technology?

I do not have these in my car, but have helped a friend put some in. They are very good quality and are very accurate with the right senders.

BTW, you have to use your own speedometer, they do not come with one.

I dont believe you can buy the pieces separately. And if you could, why do you really want to use your original housing? I am doing this "swap" right now. I removed my gauges, bezel and column tracing a short...

My original rally gauges are actually really clean, but since I had them out, and am installing a reproduction bezel to replace my somewhat ratty bezel, I sprung for the beautiful reproduction gauges. I didn't want to put it all together, then have a 50 year old gauge fail..

The reproduction housing is perfect. The only difference is the color of blue inside compared to my original. As Old Goat said, these are really nice, and look exactly original aside from some very minor color variation. As Charles said you do need to remove your speedo needle and pull your speedo and reuse that. Not hard. I also painted the Gas Gauge needle Red, as it comes in Yellow.
Let me know if you have any questions. I posted some photos in another thread over the past few weeks.
I'll be putting the bezel into the car in the next few days.

Peter Serio can restore all of those pieces for you.
