I learned my lesson this year about old driveshafts.

Ouch, did the driveshaft go first and do that? Or just the yoke?
The plan is to do billet 1350 yokes and have the shop I use for my overdrive swaps build a new stout driveshaft for the car and eliminate the shaft ever being an issue. Waiting till Dad is ready for me to do a gear swap in the rear and change the rear diff yoke at that time. That's really what the hold up has been and why he decided to just hit the track as is and have a little fun with it. |

The Driveshaft Shop is doing one for me, carbon fiber, billet 1350 on one end, and a CV joint on the other, like Andrew B's setup. I need some final measurements and they will start the build.

Pontiac Heaven
We made the trip from South Dakota. Got there Friday afternoon. Attended races on Saturday. Went to some friends home for brunch Sunday morning, got to event after 1:00, races over!!! Disappointed! I thought (as did others) the races would BEGIN around 1:00. Saw rest of car show and swap meet. Brought home some wall hanger valve covers from swap meet.
I think the gentleman with the Pontiac T shirt is Mr. Hendrickson. Anyone know who the gentleman shown in the lower left is? I bought the valve covers from him. |

Mike could answer in more detail. I only know a few things about it. It's low compression, like 9.3:1, runs an old school warrior intake and dominator setup, and the heads are iron D-ports. The cam is a custom solid flat tappet from Paul. Very mild manor engine that he drives. 3.73 gears. Mikes a good guy and knows how to make these things run.

OUCH! That sucks. Always figures when something like that breaks 9 times out of 10 it takes something else with it that was perfectly happy, lol.

We at least got to warm up for a few days anyway. Met some nice Pontiac folks. Sure would like to hear more about what ended the races early.
And thanks gitgo1 for the I.D. Mr. Maxwell is an engine builder/SS class racer right? Enjoyed talking to him. |

Thanks Formulajones.
Again, it was wonderful to be in low 70's again for daytime temps but our furry travelling companion was right at his maximum temperature tolerance. He's right at home in our normal winter climate such as it has been since getting back home... |
