Fuel sender for a 67 Ventura?
My return line is clogged and as long as I'm dropping the tank to check it out I wanted to replace the inop fuel sender.
Not having much luck finding one. I did a search here and found a thread where a member found a updated part #6428629 For their 72 Grandville but I cant find that either. Any tips? Thanks. |

People have modified different senders to work, but I do not know what they used and what they did to it.

I found a sender from a 72 chev fullsize. I had to bend the pickup tube up a bit and bend the float arm a bit. Works good.

How did you know where to bend the float arm?

Should have taken a picture but at near the bottom of the pickup, it has a 70 deg or so bend. I had to make it more of a 90 Deg bend, the sender would not sit flush with the mount. I also had to bend the float arm to get a true empty. But in doing that now it wont register over 1/2 tank when full but will show me when it's empty. Overall not a bad deal for $53

I used a 67 Impala sender.Had to bend the arm slightly to be sure it reads 0 ohms when it is all the way down[empty].But it read full or nearly full.when filled.Only downside was it was a little floatie across the scale going around turns and stop and starts. But it worked and was only 50 dollars. The factory one is an engineering disaster as time and fuel conspire to make it quit.Usually can not be repaired...

I don't know what it is about '67 fullsize fuel senders but even Arnie Beswick has been looking for one for quite awhile.

I'm not sure what other differences there are in the 65-70 fuel senders but there are versions that have a vent line and those that don't. (generally AC cars have a fuel return line)
The basic fuel tank looks identical on all 65-70 cars (apart from the wagons) so I'd think any fuel pumps from that era can be made to work.
