1969-72 Pontiac in dash tach
Looking for some help with factory Tach. I was told it was out of a GP which is what it is going in but it apparently came out of a GTO because it does not have blue dash light housings. My tach has two male spade connectors on back of housing .Internally they go to either side of a circuit board.I've seen tach out of GP's on ebay with blue dash light housings but they only have one spade connector on back.I'm confused on hookup and am looking for someone who has or knows someone with knowledge on these. Thanks,Mike 585-749-2836

Sounds like you have a '72 tach with the double terminals... '69 to '71 were the same with the single spade terminal. The tach housings are different for GP with the blue/green lenses for the bulbs built-in to it. I believe the inside of the housing is painted a light blue color as well instead of white like the GTO tach. Hope that helps!

69-72 in dash tach
Thanks for responding Grant.I found out one spade is for 12v and one is to the coil.I'm going to switch everything over to a GP clock housing with the blue green inserts.

I took a set of rally gauges out of a '71 GP decades ago, but didn't install them in my '71 T-37 until recent years. Only when I drove at night for the first time did I see that my gauges and speedo were blue-green, but my in-dash tach was white. I actually like the blue-green better and would like to make my tach match...I think I have a GP clock...does the tach face/guts swap to the clock housing without modification?
