I always tell my wife and kids that talking to myself is the only way I can have an intelligent conversation around our house.

George,
The last I heard from Bill was that he was driving a train! That's correct - he is an Engineer for the Union Pacific. And the best part is that Bill has wanted that kind of job for years. He works in the Southwest close to or through Arizona.

Jim Hand, Always glad to hear that someone got a job that they always wanted and the southwest is a beautiful place.

Hi Jim......yeah I remember he had a railroad job. A railroad engineer is an interesting job, I'd say. Tucson is his home IIRC.

Miss Brian Baker and his posts.
He was trying to get one of the Old Funny Car chassis/bodies built for "Show and Go Racing at Norwalk". He left and never heard more about the car or the effort.

Big Guy physically and actually solid on the Pontiac Knowledge.

Yes absolutely!
An important element of our Pontiac heritage IMO.

Hope Brian is still amongst the living and doing well. Miss him.

Cobra Bill is still around and posts once in a while on Bill Boyle's Board.

Haven't been on the Pontiac Zone for several years and recently haven't been posting much on here either. I find it difficult to put up good information based on actually getting out there and doing stuff w/o some Internet "Drama Queen" Googling up a bunch of crap they had nothing to do with to contradict everything you are trying to convey. That deal has been getting worse and worse, especially over on the "Street" section where I spend most of my time.

I've reached the age and point in my career where I've found it best to just go to the shop and get work done vs argue with folks on these boards that have about as much total experience with this stuff as I spent on the crapper last week....FWIW

As for the OP and original thread......I wouldn't spend a second worrying about any of this Don, you are a stand up guy and out there getting it done. I've always admired your work and your diligence to continue to improve everything you get involved with in this hobby, and like myself you rely on your efforts for a pay check. I don't think folks realize how much time you have to put into these things not to mention funds to find out what works and what doesn't and at the same time you've got to keep the bills paid.

Keep up the good work my friend. Missed seeing you this year at Norwalk, had other obligations that kept me away.........Cliff

PS: good to see you posting Jim, and yes Bill is probably somewhere between Arizona and California piloting a train with a big grin on his face!

Gach made for interesting reading for sure. Very unstable. Was good entertainment before it all came crashing down.
Brian Baker was selling his F/C as a rolling chassis and body. Never did finish it unfortunately. Not sure if it sold.

Well building a Funny Car (or any FAST race car) is expensive.........a person that hasn't done it wouldn't know unless they have tried it. He did haver a Nitrous Race Car Firebird.....it was pretty quick, he raced it a the Pontiac Nationals (Norwalk) a couple of times that more then some people have done......nice guy.

I guess most of us miss Baker. I'm a little surprised he isn't on here at all- doesn't he still offer his crank snout support?
