Connectors for lights - Factory type available?
The wiring in my basket-case 71 Lemans is very crusty and corroded, so I bought a classic update complete wiring kit from American Autowire, after seeing their good reputation here and talking on the phone with them about how they use all factory connectors.
When I got the new wiring kit, I see all the connectors that attach to exterior lights (marker lights, turn signals) don't have anything sealing the wiring from the back (see the pics in this post) See the pictures in the next post of the factory sealed external light connectors. I drive my Pontiac's through all sorts of weather and it seems to me that if the factory thought it was right to seal the wiring, the aftermarket kits should too. What are your experiences? (and is there an electrics company out there that duplicates the factory connectors?) thanks, Jeremy Last edited by bluesmobile; 07-08-2017 at 08:32 AM. Reason: typo |

Thank you for your replies. After looking at many other companies that supply electrical kits for our old cars, I've decided that American Autowire is not the company for me.

I replaced EVERY harness and wire in my 72 convertible with M&H products. I couldn't be more happy with the quality of their product!

You could do better on EBay. These look a lot better.
