Default Big Lifter and Big Cam

Frank,
Thanks for responding.
Is the Block with the Big Cam and Big Lifter Options machined for 0.904 lifters and a 55mm cam?
Is it already bushed to 0.904"?

Thanks,
Larry S.

It is ready for the bushings to be installed. 55mm cam bore is honed to size and so is the main bores. It is ready to be debured and have the cylinders honed.

It has all the lastest casting up grades.

We are casting more and have more Aluminum IAII and the IAII Big Chief blocks shipping next week .

We are sending Big Chief another one for a big build he is doing too.

I have the .904 bushings in stock. I also have a local machine shop that will install them properly.

Default Good News.

Frank,
Thanks for responding. I want the Block with the 55mm Cam Tunnel and the 0.904" Lifter Option.
Having a local Shop that you trust, do the Lifter Bushing install, is fine with me.

I'll send you a deposit.
PM Me with your contact information and we'll get the ball rolling.

BTW, What is a Big Chief IA2?

Thanks again,
Larry S.

The Big Chief IA2 is the solid aluminum block that we use in the Boss Bird. Bulletproof piece for anybody who doesn't need water jackets (methanol and nitro).

Default Who?

Who is Big Chief?

Aah, Just Kidding......

I had heard that he was going with a solid aluminum block, but I wasn't aware that it is now an option.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Larry,

These are cast with out a water jacket.

They are heat treated @ 950 deg. To the point just under the melting temperature In a Vacuum chamber and vibrated at a secret frequently to a secret number of many many hours. This makes all the molecules join to a tight formation.

When the time is reached it is removed quickly and dip into 32 degree water and hit with high pressure water.

This process relieves the stress and makes the Aluminum like a billet block. The cost to do this 1/3 the cost of a CNC machined billet block and you don't have to wait 6 months for one.

Justin and the Bag Boys have proven this block to over 3k horse power. Justin has hundreds of passes on his block and not one problem.

Butler also sells this block on there web site.

Check them out.

Frank,
Forgot to mention what's the total weight on both versions of these aluminum blocks?

We have found the IA II water jacked blocks with normal H/T are very strong. We are seeing builds with a 4.350 bore holding up with no issues under high horse power.

The changes we have made over the last year were to the main webs and the cylinder walls and the valley area. We incorporated internal webbing that binds the structure together. It's what you can't see that makes it all work.

Ask Jeff Verdi how well his has held up.

He has thousands of runs on his block. He has won two million dollar races with his block. The. Cool down rate is very quick. And it runs a consistent number every time.

And it weighs in around 145 pounds.

Butler Performance is the most experience Pontiac engine builder to ask about what they will take in Horse power.
